Activists arrested by BNSF Police for trespassing during oil train protest in Seattle

More than a dozen protestors blocked the railroad tracks at Alaskan Way and Broad St. near the Olympic Sculpture park to protest single driver trains and oil/coal by rail. Activists included City Council member Kshama Sawant and candidate for State legislature, Jess Spear. Activists were asked by BNSF to move for a North bound Amtrak train and complied after several repeated requests. Spear, along with two other activists were arrested for trespassing by BNSF police after demonstrators were given a 5 minute warning by BNSF to leave the tracks.
