Seattle teacher holds press conference regarding pepper spray assault at annual MLK march

On January 19, 2015, Jesse Hagopian was pepper sprayed while walking on the sidewalk, talking to his mother on the phone. Today, more than 50 people filled the lobby of Seattle City Hall as the Garfield High School teacher joined with local clergy, NAACP representatives, activists, and city council members, to question the Seattle Police Department’s use of pepper spray during the annual MLK Day march.
